How should we solve the birth rate problem in America?

--

As we know the US birth rate is dropping and is way below the replacement rate. If nothing is done to stop the decline, we will see a massive economic decline and potentially the end of America. Like many developed countries, the United States is below the replacement rate for a nation to be stable. Other developed countries that are below replacement include Japan, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Spain.

How can we solve this? Some say we should increase immigration. But that would drastically reduce assimilation. And that would mean American society would not be American anymore. That is regardless of where immigrants come from. Whether that be Africa, Mexico, South America, Canada, Asia, or Europe. Yes, the US is not even close to what it was like during its founding, but its values have stayed relatively the same. The values of liberty, independence, and betterment. But when you have millions upon millions of immigrants (both legal and illegal) you start to have an erosion of those values and the culture that keeps it there.

The next thing people will say is automation. Now, this may slow down the negative effects but it will not stop the problem. We can make machines to take care of some jobs. However, that will not stop the problem of the economy from collapsing with the lack of people to continue the growth.

Then what is the solution? What could we do that would not require immigration nor machines to prevent an economic collapse and ensure that America continues to exist. Well, I believe there are a few possible solutions.

First, reduce taxes for married couples, especially couples who have kids, and the more kids they have the lower their taxes. Single parents can also receive a tax break. But a little less of a tax break than a married couple with kids. Many young people say the main reason they don’t have kids is because of costs. Although it might be cheaper today overall to have kids, that does not mean people do not think it costs more today than it did in the past.
